About the Film
Shootings. Alton Sterling. Fear. Philando CastiIe. Hate. Dallas Police. Black. White. Blue.
Words that fill my mind when I think about the summer of 2016. Simultaneously shocked and emotionally numb as daily it seemed I would log onto my social media accounts only to find another death, another shooting, another incident of hate. And with each incident would come a flood of friends and family members sharing and commenting their opinions. So many people had so much to say. I also felt compelled to speak out. But what did I have to offer that hadn't already been said 1,000 times in 1,000 ways?
This film is my response.
I would never ever dare to say that I have all of the answers, or even some of the answers. However my hope is that, as you watch this 7-minute film, you will be challenged in the way you view those around you. What are you focusing on?
What are you filtering out?
Are you viewing the whole picture or just the part you find relevant?
Making this film helped change the way I see.
After watching it, I hope you can say the same thing.
